Thats about my situation and at end's meet with this problem and so now posting here. I am actually starting to think that the Malware/Virus is stopping these programs from running. I have tried running GMER but that just crashes and proceeds to crash every other window I have open including my internet browsers. This has happened every single time I have tried even with filename changes. However now when running combofix It gets to the 10 minute scan part and then my PC reboots. Obviously I tried the previous solutions starting with a scan from Malewarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and then ComboFix. Also when the XP Smart Security Malware/Virus comes back, it doesn't even appear as ave.exe anymore and probably changed its name so I don't know which process it is. I then tried Combofix as alot of solutions online were suggesting it and so I disabled McAfee Security for this to run and it found rootkits and whatnot, restarted and the problems seemed solved.īut after about a day while browsing the internet again, the redirecting started happening again and XP Smart Security soon after. However later I was getting website redirections to random search engines etc, then soon after XP smart security came back (i'm pretty sure it changed name and Ive heard it changes name) I scanned again using malwarebytes and SUPERAntispyware but it just repeated the cycle. At first I tried the obvious solutions and scanned my PC with McAfee Security (which didn't work) and so after searching for solutions online, I tried Programs like Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware with Full Scans which got rid of it temporarily. This started appearing as ave.exe in my Task manager. I've recently been trying to get rid of the XP Smart Security Malware/Virus for the past week.
